I received a BA in Theater many years ago and then, taking a left turn in life, I went to massage school and found that I had a true passion for helping people heal their bodies. I had a great massage career for 30 years working at the Omega Institute in NY and a luxury spa in Scottsdale with the great honor of working on many, many wonderful people including First Lady Michelle Obama and (then) Vice President Joe Biden. As to bodywork, I use my intuition to find areas of tension in the body and bring relief with deep tissue work, reflexology, lymphatic drainage, Tui Na and cupping.

I went back to school in 2015 to study Chinese Medicine – a 4-year program - and received my Master of Acupuncture degree and was awarded the Academic Award of Excellence. I got licensed in 2019 and have been seeing acupuncture patients along with my massage clients at Desert Song.

In addition to hands-on work, I absolutely love studying physiology and learning about nutrients and how they support the body. This journey has taken me through the world of nutrition and supplements – a lifelong study to say the least. I have, at last, landed on a focus that seems to truly be at the heart of healing the body – the science of body drainage; not necessarily detox but that subtle, daily way that bodies remove wastes from the tissues. I am now doing wellness coaching sessions and recommending a special line of homeopathic remedies from Belgium – the Unda numbered compounds and they really work! All of it is important – food, nutrients, supplements, water but just like the plumbing in your house, if your body can’t eliminate wastes and toxins through primary and secondary channels in the body, it will get clogged up and develop health concerns.

I have been a life-long student of the inner workings of the human body.  I’ve learned that often when a body is sick, in reality, it is trying to heal itself. If we can find the right way to support the body’s innate intelligence, the body can be set upon the path of healing.
