While managing a busy law practice, I was drawn into a devoted yoga practice and completed Yoga Teacher Training at Desert Song in 2010. In addition to 10+ years of teaching at Desert Song, I am also a certified Yoga Nidra facilitator and, from time to time, I bring in the gifts of Yoga Nidra. In addition to my teaching at Desert Song, I am one of the founding teachers of the Mindfulness in Law Teacher Training ("MLTT"), the only mindfulness teacher training created by attorneys for attorneys and legal professionals. In MLTT, I work with attorneys and law professors from across the U.S., Europe and South America. Now that Desert Song classes are online, some of these friends join my yoga classes. I love how our Desert Song community is expanding around the world.
I like to take my students on an in-depth journey of the mind-body-spirit, while bringing in my sense of humor and light-hearted play. My students appreciate the perspective I have from being a full-time attorney and mother of now-young adults.
When I started practicing yoga regularly, I noticed that my stress level decreased, I had more flexibility and strength, and I enjoyed being with others who also wanted what yoga offers. I realized I had found something that I could use for the rest of my life to stay healthy, balanced, curious and connected. In my yoga classes, I share what I've learned, dipping into this lineage for its richness, creating community, and having fun.
